Argos Prepaid mobile phones

There are even more great deals on mobile phones at the moment at the argos website. Argos are really pushing their mobile phone stock, and are constantly lowering their prices, which now means they are some of the most competitive on the market. There are prepaid deals, contract phones and pay as you go deals from all the main mobile networks such as Orange, T Mobile and Vodafone, and all the latest must have phones from Nokia, Samsung, LG and many more.

The prepaid idea does get a bit of a bad rap these days, and is similar to the pay as you go idea in the UK. Basically you top up your mobile phone with credit, and then you simply use this credit to make phone calls and texts, or browse the internet and even download games.

The main problem with the prepaid deals is that the cost of phone calls is much higher than if you are on a contract deal. The more you top up your credit the more the mobile network your with will give you little bonuses such as free text messages at certain times, or small discounts on calls. Another big problem is the cost of making a call to another mobile phone. These calls can be really expensive, depending on the time of day you make the call.

You can get cheaper calls if you ring someone who is on the same network as you, but if they are not then you will pay a heavy price. These calls can cost up to 50p a minute, sometimes more, it all depends on which network you are with. O2 have their own sim cards that offer free texts each month if you top up your mobile phone with at least £10 per month, so you can get some good deals out there.

Prepaid mobile phones are all over the place these days, but you will also pay more for the actual phone because you buy it outright from the start. Contract deals give you the phone for a much cheaper price, sometimes they are even free, however if you do sign up to a contract with a mobile phone operator you are then tied to the contract for around 1 year, up to 18 months, and you still have to cough up the monthly payments for this term. This means that the original cost of the phone is absorbed into this price, so in reality the phone is not free at all, it is just a tempting way to get people to sign into the contract.

At Argos there is a wide range of prepaid phones on offer, with very different prices and features, so be sure to check the catalogue for the latest deals and discounts because they change very frequently.
